Masteel Group (Nanshan Mining, Gushan Mining) Circulating Water System Energy Saving Reconstruction Project

This project involves 3 circulating water systems of Nanshan Mining Company and Gushan Mining Company under the mining company, with a total of 9 pumps. In June 2013, Shanghai Rychen Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. carried out energy-saving technical renovation on 4 pumps in 3# water supply pump room of Nanshan Mining Company's selection section, with an average power saving rate of 28%. Due to the obvious energy-saving effect, it was popularized in mining companies the following year. In August, 3 circulating pumps in 4# circulating water pump room of Nanshan mining company's mineral processing workshop and 2 circulating water pumps in 1# overflow pump room of Gushan mining company's mineral processing workshop were completed, the power saving rates were 19% and 26%, respectively.
1. Project Profile
1.1 Enterprise Profile:
Maanshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. is a large iron and steel joint enterprise in China, with 20 million tons of steel supporting production scale. In 2015, Masteel's crude steel output was 18.82 million tons, with total assets of 82.3 billion yuan and operating income of 50.4 billion yuan.
With the world's advanced production lines of cold and hot rolled sheet, color coated sheet, galvanized sheet, H-beam, high-speed wire rod, high-speed bar and wheel hoop, Masteel's trademark has been rated as a well-known trademark in China. Maanshan Iron and Steel has three major sectors: steel industry, mineral resources industry and non-steel industry. The mineral resources industry is mainly iron ore, and its business is concentrated in mining companies, which have jurisdiction over Nanshan Mine, Gushan Mine, Taochong Mine, Luohe Mine and Zhangzhuang Mine.

3. Benefit analysis
According to the data of the National Development and Reform Commission, the production of 10000 kWh of electricity requires 3 tons of standard coal and 8.72 tons of CO2 emissions. The energy saving and environmental protection benefits generated by the project are (calculated at 8000 hours of operation per year and 0.6 yuan per kWh of electricity):
>the average power saving rate is 23.9 percent;
>The annual electricity saving is about 5.01 million kWh, and the direct economic benefit exceeds 3 million yuan;
>It saves about 1504 tons of standard coal and reduces CO2 emissions by more than 4,373 tons per year.
