In July 2016, Shanghai Rychen and Ganglu Iron and Steel signed an EPC contract on the energy-saving technical renovation of the circulating water system of the power plant. The construction was completed on January 18, 2017. The renovation pump operated stably and had significant energy-saving benefits.

Tangshan Ganglu Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. was established in January 2002, with more than 10000 employees and total assets of more than 10 billion yuan; it is a modern private steel joint enterprise integrating mining, coking, ironmaking, steelmaking, and steel rolling. The supporting production capacity is 6 million tons.

3. Benefit analysis
According to the data of the National Development and Reform Commission, the production of 10000 kWh of electricity requires 3 tons of standard coal and 8.72 tons of CO2 emissions. The energy saving and environmental protection benefits generated by the project are (calculated at 8000 hours of operation per year and 0.6 yuan per kWh of electricity):
>the average power saving rate is 32.7 percent;
>The annual electricity saving is about 19.33 million kWh, and the direct economic benefit exceeds 10.05 million yuan;
>About 5,799 tons of standard coal are saved each year and more than 16,855 tons of CO2 emissions are reduced.
