Ladle baking has gone through a series of development processes from using only one gas pipe to using ordinary sleeve burner, high-speed burner, hot air burner, self-preheating burner, regenerative burner and self-priming burner.

Nowadays, the regenerative roaster is the main type of roaster used by enterprises. Compared with the traditional roaster, it has the advantages of small volume of heat storage body, high preheating and high calorific value gas saving, faster heating and fuel saving. However, with the continuous improvement of energy-saving requirements, enterprises have also found many problems in the process of use:

• Contact dispersion combustion combustion air and gas can not be fully mixed, resulting in serious flame escape;

• burner structure is not reasonable so that the flame rigidity is insufficient, full load is difficult to bake the whole ladle;

The structure of the heat storage body makes it thermally inert, the start-up effect of the heat storage function in the low-temperature baking stage is slow, the adjustment accuracy is low, and it cannot meet the refractory baking process, and the rapid heating causes the refractory lining of the ladle to emit black smoke;

• The honeycomb regenerator is easy to be dirty and blocked, frequently filled with heat and easily broken, the reversing valve has poor reliability, heavy maintenance workload, high cost and short life.

In the roaster system, the heat after fuel combustion is mainly used for: refractory heat absorption, ladle heat dissipation and flue gas loss.

Refractors absorb heat as useful energy. The more heat energy stored by the refractory material, the smaller the water temperature drop of the steel in the subsequent section. Ladle heat dissipation and flue gas loss are heat loss. The proportion of heat dissipation in the ladle is very small, and it is almost constant when the temperature of the ladle shell changes little. The flue gas loss accounts for more than 80% of the heat loss. If you want to improve the efficiency of the roaster and reduce energy consumption, you should minimize the loss of smoke.
